Prohibited and Restricted Items

Under applicable law, certain goods may be transported only under prescribed conditions and certain goods are prohibited from transportation by air (ex. liquids in glass containers).

It is the Client´s responsibility to comply with current government regulations or laws applicable in each country. Shipments are subject to inspection and possible delay by customs or representatives of other government authorities.

We reserve the right to refuse or suspend transportation of any package which does not set out contact details for shipper and receiver and of goods.

We will not transport any goods which are prohibited by law or regulation of any federal, state, or local government in the USA or destination countries or which may breach any applicable export, import or other laws or endanger the safety of our employees, agents and subcontractors or the means of transportation.

Any shipment that is prohibited by applicable law or regulation including any federal, state, provincial, or local government in the USA or destination country will not be accepted by GDL.

Please Note: It is the responsibility of the Client to ensure that a Shipment tendered to GDL, does not violate any federal, state, provincial, or local laws or regulations applicable to the Shipment.

Prohibited Items

Examples of items prohibited by GDL include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Air Bags

  • Ammunition

  • Explosives

  • Gasoline

  • Liquid Mercury

  • Bank bills, notes or currency

  • Common fireworks

  • Hazardous waste or hazardous waste service

  • Human remains, fetal remains, human body parts, human embryos or components thereof

  • Ivory

  • Marijuana, including marijuana intended for medical use and Cannabidoil ("CBD") derived from Marijuana

  • Postage stamps

  • Shark fins

  • Cigarettes, Smokeless Tobacco, and Electronic Nicotine Delivery Systems

  • Goods, the carriage of which is prohibited by law in the USA or other country of destination

  • Goods which attract excise duty (ex. alcohol), or which require special facilities, safety precautions or permits

Restricted Items

Examples of items prohibited by GDL include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Alcohol: Intoxicating liquors having 0.5 percent or more alcoholic content are nonmailable

  • Aerosols and Gases: Examples of mailable gases and aerosols include propane, butane, and fire extinguishers

  • Firearms: Clients and Recipients must be licensed manufacturers and dealers to send or receive handguns. Even though unloaded rifles and shotguns are mailable, Clients must comply with applicable regulations

  • Lithium Batteries: Small consumer-type primary lithium cells or batteries (lithium metal or lithium alloy) like those used to power cameras and flashlights are mailable

  • Matches: Safety Matches that have treated match heads that will only ignite when struck against a specially prepared surface like a match book, card, or box can be mailed. However, Strike-Anywhere Matches that will light from friction against any surface may not be mailed

  • Perfumes: Perfume containing alcohol may only be mailed within the US

  • Perishable Items: Items that can deteriorate in the mail, such as live animals, food, and plants are sent at the Client's own risk. These items must be specially packaged and mailed so that they arrive before they begin to deteriorate.
